At SKYLRK’s OASIS, thirty custom benches turned the space beneath the palms into a sculptural social landscape—produced in a two-week run.

A social landscape
beneath the palms.

At SKYLRK’s OASIS, the seating was conceived as part of the landscape rather than placed onto it. Broad, continuous forms wrap the palms, creating generous places to pause, meet, and gather.

Decibel worked with SKYLRK to translate that sculptural language into a modular furniture system—preserving the sweep of the form while making each section practical to produce, move, and install.

Design development

One gesture,
resolved as a system.

The finished seating reads as a continuous sweep, but it is assembled from repeatable curved sections. Module boundaries, connections, and proportions were developed together so the logic of assembly would recede once the benches were in place.

Robotic LFAM allowed the geometry to move directly from model to production without a dedicated mold. The manufacturing strategy could follow the design, rather than asking the design to conform to conventional tooling.

Production

30 custom benches.
Two weeks.

Thirty benches were produced in a two-week run. A multi-axis printing strategy accommodated the broad curves, while paired production kept the schedule moving without flattening the geometry.

The pieces were printed in recycled glass-fiber-reinforced PETG. Moving directly from digital geometry to full-scale components avoided a separate mold-making stage—an important advantage on a festival timeline.

Deployment

Built for the festival.
Designed to move again.

The modules were packed two per pallet and assembled on site, with future reuse considered from the outset. The same logic that made production manageable also made the installation easier to transport, deploy, and take apart after the event.

Once assembled around the palms, the separate components read as one continuous social landscape—functional furniture that becomes part of SKYLRK’s spatial identity.
